I am seeking an experienced Team Lead to guide a talented team of network engineers through an intense Firewall migration project. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a blend of technical proficiency, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively. As the team lead, you’ll be responsible for maintaining focus, boosting team morale, and ensuring the project is completed on time and to the highest standard.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading a team of Network Engineers working on a large-scale, high priority firewall migration.
• Empower and motivate the team through clear communication, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment even under pressure.
• Oversee progress and manage resources effectively to ensure on-time delivery of project milestones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network engineering issues, providing guidance and technical expertise where necessary.
• Acting as a key technical escalation point, collaborating with architects and engineers across business units.
• Balance day-to-day technical work with team leadership, ensuring a healthy work dynamic and effective performance.
• Working with modern tools and in-house Palo Alto expertise, supported by a strong delivery structure
  
  

What You’ll Bring:

• Must have experience of managing NZ-based engineering teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of network engineering, particularly with firewalls, and network security technologies (Fortinet, Fortigate, Palo Alto or, similar).
• Solid understanding of project management principles, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
• Skill in empowering others by providing clear guidance, mentorship, and emotional support during challenging times.
