The Company

This Company is one of the leading commercial construction businesses operating at the forefront of Central Otago industry. It is a privately-owned construction company, have presences in Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown and Invercargill. Their business provides a full range of building construction service in delivering large-scale and complex projects. They are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their established business in Queenstown and add value to their team, by bringing a range of knowledge, experience and know how to manage a team.

The role

You will take responsibility for a number of commercial construction projects, working closely with your client from the tender stage through construction and to final account. You will be providing information and details to all parties involved in the project as well as keeping the client and your manager informed of financial progress. As the expert in financial control, you will be able to manage and work to the required budget.

  • Tertiary Qualification, degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
  • At least 7 years experience in Quantity Surveyor/Estimating/Cost Management
  • Knowledge of managing your own sites and be able to take full responsibility for the financial management of projects
  • Experience on projects in the commercial sector in New Zealand
  • Flexible approach to work, whilst remaining focused on the task at hand
  • Good communication skills and financial awareness to deal with sub-contractors, internal colleagues and shareholders.
